It is 4 o’clock in the morning and I woke up. 1 hour later I realize that I have something which I usually never have: sleeping problems. With lying in my bed my thoughts go up and down and then I remembered the dream I had this night. As it is a very strange dream I decided to write it down. It is somehow about being a German dealing with German history. In the dream I am not appearing as a character; I am like the audience and I watch it like a movie. This is so in most of my dreams, unless I am superman and fly through the world.

I want to call this dream “escape from the capitalistic concentration camp show”. By the way, the dream appeared time-wise in the twenties of the last century; so history-wise actually before the Nazi era.

Average naked men and women are on display for visors. The visitors wear very good clothes and are in couples, man and woman. The women wear expensive natural fur and the men wear tailored suits. Among the naked adults on display is one woman wearing also no clothes but a sort of necklace. This is from natural wood, handmade and so big, that the breasts of the woman are covered. She is not very beautiful and around 40 years of age but she has, as a normal woman, pride and does not want to be displayed like a slave.
Around the naked prisoners walk the visitors to watch and judge. It is like the picking of slaves but there are armed Nazi guards around watching and handling the prisoners. The visitors are all in a sort of coltish mood but in contrast the captured adults are scared to death. From time to time a prisoners is being selected by the visitors and gets on site a tattoo with a number. The tattooed prisoners are not immediately taken away and so the crowd of prisoners are mixed with having not yet a tattoo or already being marked. It is not known what would happen to those prisoners who will not be selected in the end of the event.
The one woman with that large wooden necklace is being called by a high ranking Nazi and he asks her to take off the necklace. As the woman refuses, she is being forced. The Nazi officer is very unpleased of this situation and shouts to her. Several visitor couples get attention to the scene and the Nazi officer has its own audience. He checks if she got a tattoo already and ask to tattoo her. Then, before another guard is starting, he changes is mind and ask her to shoot her to death here and now.
As the woman is trying to escape from the guards who hold her, the audience laughs loud about her foolish tries to escape. The situation is horrible for the woman and she realizes that she has no chance. She stops moving and looking down to the ground. The Nazi officer broke her will and he got happy about it. Like a king he ask the other guards to not shoot her to death. She shall come with him.
The woman follows the Nazi officer and no other guards follow. He enters another big hall and there are the visitors sitting on long tables and eat a tomboyish dinner.
The Nazi officer speaks in the entry area to a friend he appeared to not have seen for long and the prisoner woman is standing along naked behind him. While the Nazi guard speaks loud and lively, the naked prisoner woman behind gets no attention anymore. Nobody in the big hall notice her and everybody is busy with eating and laughing. She steps back a few steps and realizes that behind of her is a large garderobe. It is separated in two areas. To the left are the clothes of the prisoners. The pieces are obviously of poor people but among the normal clothes are also some pieces of rich people. To the right are hanging mostly coats of the visitors together with other items like umbrellas or hiking sticks.
The naked woman turns around and watches the whole area and realizes that if she could manage to quickly take a one-piece skirt she may has a chance to escape. And so she does it. She enters the wardrobe space and disappears between the clothes. As she returns, she is not naked anymore and acts as a visitor. With trying to do so, she realizes that she has unlike the other female visitors no bag or other item in her hand and she decides to pick up a hut instead. In this moment a guard appears and asks her to show the paper proofing that she is allowed to pick up an item from the prisoners. He also checks if she has a tattoo. The Nazi officer is standing around 10 meters away and is still so busy of it that he does not realize what happens behind him.
The prisoner woman holds the hut in her hand and replies in a charming and flirting way to the guard that nobody would miss this little hut and that her husband also does not need to know this little situation between her an him. While saying so, the womans left hand strips over the hand of the guard for a little moment and the guards smiles back and turns around.
After the danger is away, the woman is still standing there not knowing what to do now. In this moment she hears a little noise behind her and another man comes out of the garderobe. She is shocked and thinks that now her escape is over but the man takes her in his arms and shows her his tattoo.
The two are walking away slowly and he tells her that he saw the whole time what happened. They go slowly towards the exit. A team of guards hands out car keys to leaving visitors. A little queue waits and while the escaping couple of the two prisoners talk to each other what to do now, they watch that each car key is being handed out in exchange of a blue coin which has each a different white number on it or with just saying a name.
As the couples turn comes they say a common last name. The guard replies with a choice of 2 different first names. The woman watches the man and not knowing what to answer he he replies with one of the names. The guards look to each other and ask for the second first name of the picked name. As the guard expect an answer from the man, the women watches down to the table and can read the upside down text on a paper. So she suddenly loudly replies in a confident way what the name is and kissing the man in her arms. The guards hand out a car key with a large K letter and the prisoner couple escapes.
In the car park area are many cars and the woman already tries to walk away because it would be impossible to know which car is the right one. The man holds her back and says that it does not matter which car belongs to the key their got. He sits down in a cabriolet and manages to shorting the car. They drive away in an early morning light.
