To Urbanized citizen

The human population grows and with it the cities all over the world. More and more people live in cities and urbanized areas. The proportions change. This change also causes the masses of people being more and more disconnected to nature and the thinking about our actual place in the universe. An old ancient awareness is getting forgotten because cities are so bright. They pulse of life doesn’t stop at night. Artificial light is everywhere. In many areas of the world the artificial light is so strong that even hobby astronomers with special equipment cannot watch stars in the night. It is pointless as the starlight is overruled by human made light.
There was a time when every human was able in an easy way so see a strong hint about our place in the universe: in the deep night without clouds watching up. Every human was able to see the many stars. Even without the knowledge of galaxies and clusters the subconscious feeling of us being an incredibly small crowd in the universe us coming to the mind. This is our actual place. We are like something to the universe what is a piece of sand to the desert. A wrong move and we would disappear forever.
Also when thinking of the dimension time, the stars and everything coming along with them exist for such so long time. Our existence will be after all probably such a small blink that no one else, even when searching for something like us, would be able so get the smallest idea of us.
Without this awareness, the masses of people become more and more self-centered. That may lead to the inability to survive. Every single individual should take part of the contention of us and the rest around us.
I am happy that when I was younger to be able to have seen the milky way with my own eyes, happy that I was in the night at a place where no artificial light is at night.
