A Menu calls “Starry sky”

With our eyes we see only light points on the sky with a mystified meaning. With the power of our brains and the culture of our science we see a 3 dimensional space we call universe. It contains not only stars but the stars are are like meals of our kind. We don’t like all sorts of stars for us and nothing is for free. This menu of stars is tempting. This menu is calling us. This menu is an offer to our way of life. We can calculate the distance to each of these stars. This distance is a price. If we would be able to pay it, we can reach it and feed us. We have not yet been able to pay 1 single item on this menu around us but we have first ideas how we could do it. The biggest challenge appears no more the theoretical way to get that price but rather the practical conduct.
I doubt it we could pick 1 item, 1 star fit for us, without the power of all of us. I doubt we can decide for this first menu item together without changing. We are like small children on a playing ground. There may be 1 or 2 kids knowing what is the right thing to do so all of us can in the end have fun but these kids are a minority. The majority wastes time and energy and even fights with each other for meaningless things.
Year by year I see this menu get more and more clear for us. Year by year I watch our kind and wonder when and how man kind will realize we should open together this menu and pick 1 item. May be the first item turn our to not really satisfy our taste but the first item is the start. It is not a start. No. It is the start. It is like a baby doing the first breath.
I am certain I will not be alive when this may happen but I cannot stop thinking about it. About the possible ways for us to unite. About the possible stars we may go to. About the possible ways to send a dead box of spaceship to some other place and this box contains our seed.
So we choose an item of the great starry sky together to do the seeding of us.
I may be a dreamer but I am not the only one.
