With fundamental questions like “Who am I?” or “Where do I come from?” humans are questioning the own existence. The universe gives each of us a ticket calls life and we can use it to participate to the big game of to be. Each of us has not only the responsibility of our own life or the possible children we take care of, we also are responsible for what we leave behind to the following generations.
That all in mind, the things which remain from us are not only a mental or social legacy but also simply the physical aspects of what we leave behind.
The truth is, mostly the negative parts are our remains. We leave behind a large amount of trash and polluted environment. We leave behind nuclear and chemical waste which will last for a very long time. We leave behind a lot of space debris. We leave behind a by humans changed world which makes it not only for every other kind of life difficult to exist but also our own kind will suffer from it. We leave behind a smaller variety of life due to a reduced number of species.
Our remains, for the day after tomorrow, are in the current public awareness not much a topic. The daily business is filled with today and tomorrow. We don’t spend enough efforts for this. For those who define the own existence by their own legacy, this is a difficult situation. Most of the people care for today and tomorrow.
The whole current “system earth” run by us is led by meaningless cars of today.
We grow and change. We create technological advancement. We don’t know where this journey is ending. There will be robotics with nanotechnology and artificial intelligence; may be nanotechnology with artificial intelligence. There is no global control of anything really. Already now it is possible that something is being created by us which could turn all of our lives bad. Already now it is possible to create something of a price of just some millions to influence millions of people.
A general view about us reveals it: we are conflicting and twisted. That is our nature currently and nothing is in sight which would change that.
If there is one thing certain, then it is the uncertainty of our future. Most worries arise from the fact that with the conflicting parts of us, no separation exists. So that leads to the lack of an imporving separated group with better results of dealing with our earth. Globalization brings chances and risks.
For me, I know who am I and I know where I come from. These answers appear without meaning as I may know my future but the future of my kind is hidden in a worrying darkness.
I don’t know what is here in a hundred thousand years but I am afraid in a thousand years all this written here is still unchanged. May be in a million years this planet came back to a different game of life: life challenged by itself without being covered in concrete.
