The way citizen live together changed over the last thousands of years. We moved away from systems where religion or power were put into the center. Other ideas were tried in history. Putting people or a commonly shared possession into the center revealed the weakness of economical strengths as well as putting own advantages over the group by those enough in power to be able to exploit the system. Centering the economy brought woe beyond belief to the so called “common” people. Improving it to add economical controls or even social features is the state most of the countries work with currently.
Amazing is, we all know that none of the existing or thought of systems are what we want or need.
Balancing out all key aspects is what we all know and what should be done, namely:
people, nature, religion, economy and culture but also mobility, science and technology as well as generally worthiness of existence.
Politicians do not try to come up with fundamentally new ideas and scientific new ideas are unproven theories and far away from mainstream public attention. Keeping it somehow working is what we all do. We know we drive to the wrong direction. By now, we all can even feel it every day.
Surrounding us by concrete, plastic, stupidity, unsustainable ways and so on does not fulfil our expectations. By now, many people on earth understand this. A wide believe has grown about it but many incredible stupid streams to aim for fundamental change came up like mushrooms after a warm rainy week. People knowing or remembering history are astonished of the continuous repeating of proven unfit solutions. No, putting its own religion, country or race over the rest of the world will never make it to a good balance. Also to continue to exploit nature is not fulfilling key expectations of our way of life. Just keep on going is also just more like the drive against a wall in full speed. Waiting for some future salvation is also just ignorant considering the fact we have by now enough knowledge to come up with better ideas. All the knowledge we have by now is like a set of features needed to be put together in the right way.
We don’t do this. We just want it. We are thirsty for it. We beg for it. But no more.
Any kind of change means to invest with some discomfort now to gain greater comfort later on; or even just for future generations. That is why the expression “Humans are the skin disease of earth” is not far away from the truth because we act as mankind more like bacteria in a petri dish. There is no eternal growth on earth and we are yet totally unable to grow in the universe.
Religious people ask god for help, economists for a guru to solve things or look to the politicians. Politicians are elected for a few years and have no advantage to fight for a longer future. Countries with power as key concept or with largely evolved propaganda systems to stay in power are unwilling to change anyway because it may result in the loss of power.
I believe philosophy put more into the center of our lives would help a lot. I pray for this, with looking to the politicians and wonder of the help of powerful countries in power by power to get a balanced alternative for a way we all can exists in peace and harmony with us and nature for a long time. This also would give us the strengths to explorer the universe the same way it was done 500 years ago with our oceans.  …well, ups, not exactly the same way hopefully.
