A fairy tale of 1 thought
Once upon the time there was an early human not believing in death as an ultimate end. There must be something of me remaining! Am I just what I see what I am? I feel there is more! How can conscious work just because of the dirty physical world?
How could I exist without some sort of magic?
Actually, disbelieve in nothing much after death was originated very early by primitive humans already. These humans were fully unaware of the consequences of this very new and very special game driven by logic.
That game went over the centuries through self-interacting different stages.
Stage 1: There must be something from me surviving my physical death.
Stage 2: So this something must be none materialistic.
Stage 3: Let us call this soul and this thing, unmaterialistic, is in me already when I was born.
Stage 4: A soul must be able to come to the physical world.
Stage 5: There must be some sort of space where these souls are originated and stay.
Stage 6: This space, you may also call heaven, is ruled by a higher being with magical superpower beyond humans understanding – that actually is a comprehension of the own limits.
Stage 7: This heaven must be a good place holding all souls.
Stage 8: Life is good. That means the bad things in life are not originated by life.
Stage 9: If there is a heaven for the good and bad also exists, there must be a space too – for the bad.
Stage 10: … well, from here it can go in many different direction.
Surely, these stages here are just a simplified theoretical possible path of many millennia wondering humans split up in groups. These groups developed own ideas and own logical consequences from the very first simple idea and even interacted with each other. That, including but not limited to, explains basic ideas in different religions are reoccurring.
A soul, god, heaven, hell or a similar magical spaces and all the other conceptual ideas around it is in my understanding of this whole set of stories invented by humans. Telling stories of burning bushes which are telling gods wisdom is just a way to sell a story. Own experiences mixed in to these stories to make them easier to believe.
Yes, this is my way how I see most of the religions.
In one way or the other way it started with lack of knowledge and disbelieve. That turned to believe formed by our logic.
The whole thing would not be so important if it would not have caused most of the living humans to be trapped in the own universe of religious ideas.
Trapped? How can you be trapped in a set of believes which formed over time different religions? Believing in this is causing to not allow other believes to exist. Other believes which would help us to not just understand the universe we live in but also to find our place. And yes, I am convinced we have not found our place yet.
People usually say we humans do not live in peace with nature and so nature will kick us out. The truce is, nature has no conscious and the things which happen are happening by the nature of the universe. If a monkey by chance writes into the sand that 3*3 equals 9 and we can accept this as a true mathematical fact, this fact is not better or greater if its creator has certain properties or had an aim. It does not matter if the fact was found by chance or by deep thinking. It is only our believe in facts which form our world.
The funny think is, what I wrote here is believe. That means I am trapped by my believe as well. My comprehension covers this sort of logical loop. What do I do with that? … may be I just should go to bed. (for now)
